History: (from the US seller)
I purchased this car from the second owner in Hartford South Dakota in 1985 the day I received my first drivers licence, and drove it
throughout high school. The motor was professionally rebuilt in 1987 and I had the rear quarter panels replaced and the car repainted the original FK5 color at that time.
The car was stored during my college years of 1986-1990. In '90 we moved to Colorado where it was my daily driver in '90 and '91. The car has since moved with me to Iowa, Wisconsin, and now Michigan as a summer driver. In 2001 I had the motor professionally rebuilt again and it is runs fantastic. This car sounds so nice. It does now need some minor body work on the rears and a few interior fixes to be whole, but it turns heads where ever it goes in its present condition.
I have a new daughter and my priorities have changed but this car has been a part of my life for a long time. I am hoping for something like an adoption here.. with visiting rights some day. I have never done the things I dreamed of with this car, but I have been a very good steward and care keeper and it is reflected.
Great:
Original "N" code 383 Magnum runs like a dream. Less than 5K on professional rebuild. Starts up oh so easy. Sounds great.
Headlamp motor does and has always worked like new.
Brand New Rims and Tires on it less than 1000 miles ago.
Good:
Glass is all in great shape
I purchased an almost perfect dash pad last year on ebay. It needs to be installed yet but will come with the car.
Original 727 Tranny. Could use a tune up but works fine.
Very few parts missing anywhere. Almost complete
Started to put in new headliner. Needs to be adjusted particularly in rear to be finished.
Underside of car is appears to be defect free and in very good shape.
Oil pressure, Voltage, and Fuel gauges all work well.
Bad:
Quarters have developed a couple areas of paint bubbles that I have detailed in the
pictures (click
here to see). In addition there is a little patch of rust behind the driver side rear tire. Some small scratches and other surface blemeshes you would expect from a 35 year old car.
Trunk floor has some surface rust and scale. May need to be replaced someday.
No Radio. Needs exterior antenna
Tranny has small fluid leak.
3" Rip on Drivers seat headrest area, detailed in picture.
Could use new carpet.
Speedo is running about 15 miles high at highway speed.
Clock looks nice but is not working,Temp gauge in cluster not working, but have an aftermarket temp gauge in car.
Due in Feb-Mar
